I was going through php book but i am still not getting why php is called "Hypertext PreProcessor"? if it's for php, other language are not hypertext preprocessor?

Please help me to clear this doubt?

Actually it should call hpp but it wont sound good so developers started to say php, nothing else.

PHP is a general-purpose scripting language originally designed for web developing to develop dynamic web pages. For this determination, PHP code is embedded into the HTML source document and considered by a web server with a PHP central processing unit module, which generates the web page document.
